You’re not alone.
The World Economic Forum reports that just 8.7% of social impact companies are still around after four to six years! Mainly because of profitability issues and stress on the founder.
I know. This is not the future you want for your impactful business.
Like most of my clients, you are extremely passionate about your startup, but:
These words by Mary Oliver hit me hard about a decade ago.
That’s when I decided to radically shift my relationship with myself and my work.
I had what many would call a high-achiever’s life. I had just gotten my 6th promotion in 6 years at my “serious” corporate job. I was on the fast track to the corner office with the paycheck and status that comes with it. But on the inside, I was struggling (yes, you can be both burned out and bored at the same time!)
The truth was. I wasn’t doing work that aligned with my values. I barely had time for health, wellbeing and relationships.
So with all my fear in tow, I decided to leave my corporate ladder-climbing, jet-setting life to build a legacy I could be truly proud of.
To redesign my life so I could do meaningful work that mattered to me and to the world. To close out each day pulsing with gratitude, knowing I’ve made a difference in the world, while still holding space for who I wanted to be.
So, I launched my first impact startup – Rank & File Magazine – to share authentic, vulnerable business advice specifically catered to the social entrepreneur. I learned so much in those early days – speaking with over 100 successful impact founders and learning how to grow and lead my own company as a CEO. I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world.
Behind-the-scenes was not glamorous in the early days. I was that passionate purpose-driven founder who at first… still worked like crazy for very little money. I might have had a great mission and values, but it was the furthest thing from sustainable for me behind-the-scenes.
So, I hired my first business coach to help me uplevel myself. At first I blew off coaching because of the price tag. I thought, “I don’t have the money to invest in this, I need to spend the money on the company!”
That thought didn’t get me very far, my friend. (Along with a whole lot of other thoughts that were unknowingly holding me back at the time.)
Coaching saved my newbie business back in those early days by turning me into a strategic business woman and CEO. Once I showed up differently on the INSIDE of my company, the outside results changed.
After that initial coaching transformation, I was officially hooked on coaching tools and began to get curious around WHY those tools were working.
I dove into the neuroscience and the connection that the nervous system and vagus nerve plays in success and stress.
Almost a decade of experience working with founders around the world has allowed me to develop a unique Founder Peak Performance Methodology inside of my Simply Sustainable Program.
